  2. Shrek
This is a movie about an ugly ogre that travels with a princess and a talking donkey. He later falls in love with the princess but believes that she wouldn't fall in love with him because of his ugly appearance. Little does he know, at night, the seemingly perfect princess turns into an ogre because of a spell cast on her long ago. They admit their feelings in the end and live happily ever after.
This movie is making fun of fairytales in general. It makes fun of "Prince Charming" being narcisstic and many other Disney movie ideas.

    Shrek 1
Shrek's home is overrun with fairy tale creatures. Shrek goes to the king with a donkey to discuss problems. He is told that he must rescue a princess to get his land back. He goes to castle, fights dragon, rescues princess, and returns to king. On the way home, he falls in love with princess and defeats king to keep her.

  4. South Park
South Park is the story of the lives of a small group of boys living in the rural South Park, Colorado. The show explores adult ideas and situations, but they are shown throught the eyes of these ten year old boys. It's entertaining because the group of boys experience the major events happening in the modern world, except the show shows these events through a very original perspective.
The show parodies a wide variety of people and organizations. Specific examples are Michael Jackson, Dog the Bounty Hunter, And United States politics.

  5. Don Quixote- Eleni and Rebecca
Don Quixote is about an old man who reads fairytale novels about knights. He is insane and decides to become a knight. He goes on journeys riding an old horse with an overweight sidekick named Panza and battles windmills which he sees as giants.Don Quixote’s mission was to rid the world as what he sees as evil and help his people. This book is a parody of knights its meant to poke fun at stereotypes of how knights save princesses.

    Shrek

An Ogre named Shrek, goes on a quest to find a princess named Fiona. Shrek then saves her from her tower with his trusty side-kick named Donkey. Fiona ends up falling in love with Shrek and they get married.

This is a parody of the classic love story between a prince and a princess. This a parody of true love at first sight, because when Shrek and Fiona first meet they do not get along at all.

  7. Tosh.0 is a show that relates to satire due to the fact that the entire show is based on people doing ridiculous things. Videos are picked of people doing things that may originally meant to be serious but the outcome was accidentally funny. Daniel uses satire in his show because he takes these accidental outcomes and uses irony, sarcasm, parody, ridicule, and exaggeration to make the purposed audience laugh. The show is satirizing the fact that these people tried to be serious or do something really cool and ended up hurting themselves, or embarrassing themselves in the end and Tosh.0 takes the embarrassment and takes it up a level.

  8. 1. Saturday Night Live
    2. A specific example of a parodic SNL skit would be when they brought in a character named Stefan who is always talking about the hottest places to visit in New York or the newest fashions. In most cases the styles he describes are completely outlandish but are acceptable because it is described as art and is in the midst of the New York culture.
    3. SNL does a specific skit in each episode that discusses global issues in a sarcastic way. Different characters are brought in to portray the current events in a parodic manner. They use charactertures to imitate political figures and citizens in our world.

  9. For our satirical example, we chose Southpark. Southpark is a cartoon television show that follows the misadventures of four third graders as they stir up trouble in the small town of Southpark, Colorado. This show pokes fun at many controversial issues such as race and religion. Each episode covers a new topic to ridicule.

  10. The movie Shrek is about a green ogre named Shrek, who meets a misunderstood princess who tries to live up to the expectations people give her. Shrek pretends to know life this princess until one day he actually finds out the real person she is. Shrek all along did not think that this beautiful princess would ever be able to fall in love with the ugly ogre he is, but after saving Princess Fiona, Shrek kissed her and it turned out that she too was an ogre! This story is a satire of fairytales and a notion of happily ever after.

  11. Sweet Brown for President

The lady that made the quote, “ain’t nobody got time for that” is running for president. Congress has just issued an alert that their is a terrorist attack in our city’s capital. She told congress, “she ain’t got time for that.” Congress explained that children were dying. She still told them “she ain’t got time for that.” Until, they told her the Bojangles just burned down. She told congress, “now I have time for that.”
