5/1/13 Prompt

The issues in Mary Shelley's novel are relevant to science and our society today.  Dr. Victor Frankenstein wanted the power to create life--to "play God"--but he realizes the mistake he has made once it is too late to do anything about it.

How is this relevant to modern science?  Consider controversial issues such as cloning and stem-cell research.  To what extent do you believe man should pursue knowledge that could lead to creating life? Extend your knowledge base by checking out this American News article titled "Stem Cell Research Far From Frankenstein." Defend your opinion with statistics and facts. Evaluate your peers' opinions by responding to at least one other person's post!
