  2. Well, the only satirical/parodic/lampooning thing I can think of and remember enough to summarize is "Bi-Curious George: An Unauthorized Parody. "In the book, (Which by the way I just happened to have stumbled upon while wandering around Barnes & Noble on Saturday), everyone's favorite rascally monkey is... well exploring his sexuality. I really only read this out of shock that such a book exists. George goes to a pride parade, and almost has relations with a human man. I couldn't bear to read the whole book because reading it made me feel very uncomfortable. The book is parodying the recent swell in the LGBT community. Well I hope that is the purpose of the book...

    Regretfully,

  3. The show that I have picked is Family Guy. This is a very satirical show because they are constantly making fun of real life scenerios. Family Guy is a show that can make people laugh and is amusing to people of all ages. While sometimes inapproriate, this show is something you can watch with the whole family. Some things that they make fun of are real situations happening in the world, some celebrity feuds, celebrity couples, and etc.

  4. Mr. Griffin Goes to Washington – Season 3. Peter almost gets fired after he skips work for a baseball game. The El Dorado Cigarette Company buys the company and he gets lucky in retaining his job. They send him to Washington as a tobacco lobbyist where he finally sees the errors of his ways after Stewie starts smoking and gains a rattling cough. Classic send ups of political culture and films ensue. Jabs at Bob Dole, Martha Stewart, and presidential candidates Gore and Bush.

  5. The show that i have in mind is Nikki & Sara. They are always making fun of everything on tv. When someone watches their show you will laugh at the stupidity and ignorance that they use on people. They make jokes about all celebrities, like celebrity couples, dates, movies, and etc.

  7. The television show we chose is Saturday Night Live. It is a satirical show in that it parodies things going on in politics, the government, sports, etc. For example, way back in 2008 they did a lot of parodies on Sarah Palin, and now they do a lot of parodies on Barack Obama. They make fun of the political figures in a way that is slightly insulting but in a way makes them laugh about the flaws they have. They get a lot of their ideas for parodies from the culture around us which is pretty much what satire is all about.

  9. A television show that I have watched in South Park. In the show many people are stereotyped and they make fun of popular things. They usually make fun of famous people and use things that they have said or done and make them sound worse then they are.

  10. The movie that I have in mind is Meet the Spartans. It makes fun of 300 B.C in a lot of ways. It takes all of the seriousness out of it and replaces it with comedy. It makes fun of all of the groups of people that were in 300 B.C. Finally, it uses many forms of Satire like exaggeration, caricature, and irony.

  11. A TV show that is satircal/parodic is Family Guy. This show pokes fun at famous people's flaws and American pop culture. Throughout the show they'll show clips of celebrities as drawn characters, doing whatever was controversial or funny that they had done recently or in the past. For example, the family will be watching TV and the "tv show" will exaggerate already prominent features or flaws that someone has.

  13. The satirical show I chose is American Dad.

The plot is the daily life of a CIA agent who tries also be a family man. The show is about their daily misadventures, that end up with some moral. And similar to Family Guy, they forget about it all by the next episode, allowing the story to change with every episode.

They make fun of the different political parties, political figures, and much more.

An example is when there is a CIA carnival, and Haley (the daughter) asks Stan (father/main character), “If the Cia is here, then who is stepping on our freedom?”, to which Stan replies, “The FBI takes a double shift.” This implies that the Government constantly ignores our rights and oversteps their power.

  14. Mean Girls is a satirical movie about a teenage girl, Cady, who starts a new high school. After a few days of the new school, Cady joins the "plastics", the popular click with Regina George as the leader, as a joke, but she slowly starts to become one of them. I choose this movie because it makes fun of the way typical high school girls act. Mean girls also makes fun of the popularity status and the way society thinks the "popular" girls treat other people, and how they feel they "run the school".

  16. All of the Scary Movies are parodies of actual scary movies. For example in Scary Movie 3 the girl for the Ring is being ridicule by being killed so easily. Another example is Scary Movie 4; where War of the Worlds is made fun when the giant robot killing things are actually nice beings seeking love. These movies are doing a great job at parodying other serious movies because they are very funny.
